Tree Crop Specialist, Hogtree, Savanna Institute

Eliza Greenman

Eliza Greenman is a horticultural historian, fruit explorer, and owner of HogTree, a nursery and farm specializing in growing fruit and nut trees that have been selected to feed livestock in a silvopasture system. Though she’s located in northern Virginia, Greenman works across the US and world to discover and share new and old uses for fruit and nut trees in the landscape. As the tree crops specialist for the Savanna Institute, she has been using her skills to help develop a tree crop breeding program for the future of planting more perennial systems on agricultural landscapes.
